Background:

Eletre is the first electric SUV from Lotus and a milestone project shaping the brand’s digital design language. Project covered full HMI lifecycle — from concept to production.

HMI has been used also for Lotus Emeya.

Role:

I've worked as a Lead UX Designer on Lotus eletre with focus on Cluster, AR HUD HMI, Digital Mirrors. I've played a key role of making the Slim Driver Cluster possible.

March 2020 – February 2022 (Remote) | Vehicle Launch: March 2022

My contribution

  • Led UX Design for Cluster, HUD, and Digital Mirrors

  • Created HMI Strategy across all (digital and tangible) in-car touchpoints:
    (Cluster, Center Screen, HUD, Digital Mirrors, Steering Wheel Controls, HVAC, etc.)

  • Developed UX concept for extremely thin cluster, integrating all legal requirements (ISO,
    font & icon size, telltales), Manual driving + ADAS states, 5 different Driving modes, etc.

  • Designed interaction logic for steering wheel controls
    (ADAS, Drive Modes, Media, VA, Regeneration)

  • ​Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and Steering Wheel Interaction Prototypes for
    Steering Wheel TUI layout

  • UX Concept and Design for Semi AR HUD based on cluster UX

  • Delivered wireframes, flows, and interactive prototypes

  • Interior Welcome Light Strategy and Exterior/Interior Startup-Sequence 

  • UX Concept and Design for Digital Mirrors

  • Interaction logic / HMI Development for Climate Functions / HVAC

  • HMI UX Design Support for Rear Screen & Passenger Screen

  • Supported user testing, benchmarking, and UX for mobile app

  • Support on Design Documentation for driver related functions and touchpoints​​

Outcome

  • Contributed to iF Design Award-winning Lotus Hyper OS

  • Successfully delivered a production-ready HMI that pushed design-technical limits​
